Surprise birthday party

Yesterday (a first time experience for me) I organized a last minute birthday party for my son who turned twenty!! I called up one of his friends and asked him to bring a few friends over for a simple celebration. So three of them turned up.....and when Prakash returned from futsal, they jumped out of the kitchen to wish him happy birthday....... we had pizza and fried chicken and I had loads of fun showing the friends my son's baby photos!! Well, as his friends reminded me, now Prakash is no longer a teenager.......he is a young adult.

As a mother I am truly grateful that the Lord has allowed me to be around to see my son reaching this age. I remember those years when my children were young and my prayer was to see them grow up, at least able to fend for themselves. Indeed, the Lord has graciously granted this desire.....and I am grateful.
