An anxious time
Today, her condition is much the same as yesterday evening. The iv drip has 'revived' her a little but the condition remains a bit of a mystery even to the vet. The blood count is low and there seems to be some intestinal obstruction as well. The vet spoke about possible blood transfusion - but that would need a doggy donor. Sabbath is pale and weak....able to stand up when we visited, and even wagged her tail a bit, but then prefers to sit down. She has not enough energy to exert her desire to come out of the cage, even when I opened the door to touch her.
Now I realize how difficult when something comes on suddenly - to come to terms with it. These couple of days have been difficult - hoping yet with the knowledge that she is in a serious condition. Wanting to 'let go' too if that is called for.....and yet, hoping to be able to have her a bit longer. Eight years seems a long time, but time does fly. All of us visited her today, being Sunday.......but during the week, it will probably be myself only. Thankfully, the vet is the son of one of my friends, and he understands this dog lover's need to say goodbye to Sabbath, if need be, by spending some time with her through this ordeal.

"Wanting to freely let go, if that is called for" .......that is the journey towards liberty in the Spirit, that is the journey, I may have to make, with the help of the Giver, who gave me this gift of my doggy friend Sabbath.
