Bye to the reno team
I said goodbye to the renovation team yesterday! They finally completed everything....these past few days have just been the finishing touches. Plus of course some 'changes' from yours truly - like changing a light because it was not bright enough and adding another - these 'small' or not so small details that I noticed because I have been spending much time there cleaning up and arranging things I brought over. At last the house is free of the workmen's things - ladders, tins of paint, toolsets, a huge metal chest that has sat outside the house for a couple of months - containing special tools and padlocked at night. I wish I had taken pictures of the necessary 'mess' that I've been getting used to. I've been told there will be fine dust for a couple of weeks until things settle down. So I need not get too meticulous about the cleaning - because dust will settle the next day anyway.
I really appreciate the work done by the men - two experienced workmen have been diligently working six days a week for the past two and a half months! I've kind of got used to people working there everytime I go over. And am grateful for the contractor's patience with my several 'changes' along the way. This has been a good experience for me - I have learnt some of the inner workings of renovation work, this being the first time I have had to renovate a house. I am grateful for the job well done, despite the difficulties along the way (old houses spring surprises). I am grateful to the Lord for giving me a team of people willing to go with the flow of things.....including my 'fickleness' :-) Tomorrow is the big day. Bye to Kiara Green, my home for twenty years.
