Geomancy test

My present house seems to have passed a 'geomancy' test yesterday. A prospective buyer, a young man came for a second viewing, this time bringing along his parents and his geomancy consultant. I was a bit surprised as he had just mentioned bringing his parents. I was, admittedly kind of suspicious, wondering what the consultant would be doing, and how long it would take - so I quickly reminded them that I needed to go out in 20 minutes. In the end it just took something short of 15 minutes.....I suspect the consultant mainly needed to record the compass readings at different locations around the house. And then go and make calculations before giving his verdict. Well, I got a call from the prospective buyer later on in the day, and he wants to 'have a discussion' sometime this week. I gather my house must have passed at least the preliminary 'round' of tests. The next round the buyer's in- laws would be coming along as well.
I actually realized after the event that I felt 'sad' in a way - to see people turning to these crutches, seeking security in these ways. Yes, life is so fragile these days - and I guess it is only very human to want something 'larger' than ourselves to give us comfort and security. All humans somehow, at a very basic level realize this 'need'. The only thing is that we seek to fulfill this need in different ways. Those of us who have found or rather been found by God, can find ourselves sitting in 'judgment' and pooh -ing such practices. But, at the same time, we could make the effort to ask ourselves how - in what way our lives of dependence upon God can be a living testimony to those who seek security. In fact, we might ask - do we even have this testimony to give - or are our lives in most ways similar to the world out there, except that we claim we believe in 'God' and we are involved in 'churchy' activities. Anyway, we would hope that our lives will pass the 'test' of authenticity when appraised by those who are seeking the someone/something we now know as God, the one whom we believe is the source and goal of all our seeking.
