Giving thanks

Dear God, we give thanks for domestic animals.

Those creatures who can trust us enough to come close. Those creatures who can trust us enough to be true to themselves.

They approach us from the wild. They approach us from the inner world. They bring beauty and joy, comfort and peace. For this miracle and for the lesson of this miracle. We give thanks.

Sabbath is only now slowly growing her beard again!! There is a short stubble around her jaws and her eyebrows!! I looked back at her old photos and realized how different she looks now. But despite that, she is still 'herself', and perhaps even more active, as she has got over the earlier parasite infection quite well. Only that the current treatment lasts another month or so with the twice weekly bath/soaks as well!! There is a 'price to pay' to enjoy this 'miracle' of domestic animals, but it is well worth the effort.
