New Year's Day prayer

Loving God,

Lord of possibilities,

enable us to reach

into the depths

of our spirits

and experience

fullness of life.

Help us to be

who you created

us to be -

alive in Jesus Christ

your Son.

Let us embody him

who embodied you.

Let us not

run from life,

for it is there

that we find you.

May your saving grace

amaze us

in our everyday

comings and goings.

May we hope in you

as you have

hoped in us your creatures.

And may we trust that

we will "see your goodness

in the land of the living".
