Prayer: "Soul of Christ"
Jesus, may all that is you flow into me.
May your body and blood be my food and drink.
May your passion and death be my strength and life.
Jesus, with you by my side enough has been given.
May the shelter I seek be the shadow of your cross.
Let me not run from the love which you offer,
but hold me safe from the forces of evil.
On each of my dyings shed your light and your love.
Keep calling to me until that day comes
when, with your saints, I may praise you
forever.
Amen.
(A contemporary reading by David Fleming SJ, of the prayer "Anima Christi")
I have been asked to pray for several persons recently, and sometimes, the burden seems heavy. But it should not be so, for I am just to hold them before the God of love. When I remember this, and leave the healing, the settling, the 'fixing' if necessary, all to Him, I can grow deeply trustful (even in my helplessness) again. I came across this prayer recently and have been praying it for some people, replacing the personal pronouns with their name.

Dear Lilian
Thank you for this beautiful prayer.
Blessings in Jesus' love
Oli
Hi Oli,
Glad you find it meaningful.
It was a prayer that was a favorite of St Ignatius of Loyola, founder of the Jesuits.
