The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him
..the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, ...of counsel and of power...
How wonderful to know that our Lord Jesus Christ, God incarnate, is described here by the prophet Isaiah. We live in a time when Jesus' coming has been fulfilled. We have seen and experienced him through the gospels and indeed the description here is an accurate one. Clothed in human flesh, he was one who possessed wisdom and looked at the world through his Father's eyes. Deep understanding was his. Counsel enabled him to discern his Father's voice so that his Father guided him in every decision. His courage in the face of suffering was born of the strength of his Father. He knew his Father's abiding love and care. His 'fear of the Lord' was a reverence that delighted in the ways of God, a delight that could not deter him from fulfilling God's will for him.
The Messiah came to transform, to make all things new and whole. He came to bring justice to the needy and the poor of the earth. He came to bring peace to a creation torn by enmity and strife. We are still in many ways experiencing that brokenness. And yet, because we do believe, we know in that deep place in our hearts, that God is transforming the earth, not on our time scale but in his perfect time. We long and wait for the day when all strife will cease, when even the creatures will lie down together. Meanwhile, we as we ourselves are changed, we long to be used as God's instruments of transformation.

Dear Lilian, how appropriate your thoughts because I have committed myself to serve Him in a position that I find least comfortable. But as I wrote in my email, I am also excited to 'wait and see' what He will do to make me more like Him. I know it's not going to be easy, but then, what's easy when it's my way, my will that I have to surrender.
Thank you for the encouragement and walking with me through all this.
God bless
Oli
Hi Oli,
Thanks for dropping by!
Sometimes, it's just that little bit we have to 'give up' to allow His abundant grace to flow into out lives.
Looking forward to hearing more about your 'adventures' of faith!
Lilian
