God the persistent seeker of souls

Luke 15 : 1 - 10
Rejoice with me...I have found my lost sheep....my lost coin
I believe it is always important to remember that our search for God nowhere matches his persistence in drawing us to himself. Actually it is a great 'relief'! Jesus sought out 'sinners' and had meal fellowship with them because he cared and knew that by seeking them out they would have a chance to see themselves through God's eyes, and 'repent'. How else could they know and receive God's mercy and grace?
I wish more Christians (including myself) would spend time in 'seeking out' those who are in need of God's grace. Like Jesus, it may have to take the form of simple connections through sharing perhaps a meal or common hobby. But also rather than becoming 'preachy' (so many these days have had the gospel preached disrespectfully to them), it may be better to 'be' the kind of people who can help others see themselves through God's eyes.......that is as much loved and sought out 'sinners'. People's defences rise up or else they may just give in to helplessness ('It's no use, I'm beyond help'), if we give the impression that we are 'holier than thou' as the Pharisees did. Jesus never condoned sin and yet the way he drew sinners to himself was beyond the boundaries of the orthodox religion held dear by the Pharisees.
Imagine........bringing not only the good news to the people we seek out, but also bringing Christ with us.....just by be-ing as he is....the loving, persistent seeker and shepherd of souls.
